Take a day trip to Asheville (37 min) to explore its thriving culinary and art scenes and attractions such as the Biltmore Estate and River Arts District. Outdoor activities in the area include whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area (32 min), and enjoying the 2.3-mile walking trail that circles Lake Junaluska (13 min).

Check out the hiking trails at Mount Lyn Lowry where there’s a 60′-tall white cross that can be seen for up to 30 miles at night!
